17% Kenyans believe the country is headed on the right path

A new report shows that most Kenyans believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction as shown in the infotrak Research and Consulting Limited, in a survey conducted between August 13 and 14, 2025.

Transport, Infrastructure and Roads came in seventh at 15% while access to quality and affordable healthcare 13%, closing issues that ranked above 10%.

Other issues raised are Extra-judicial killings, Insecurity/crime, Empowerment of youth, Cost of doing business, Poverty reduction, Access to clean water and Cost of farm inputs.

Also in the list are women’s empowerment, equal distribution of resources, student protests, public participation, drug and substance abuse, alcoholism, ethnicity/tribalism, environmental conservation, and disaster management.

Infotrak used Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) with a sample of 2,400 adult Kenyans across all 47 counties.

66 per cent of Kenyans blame the high cost of living, 30 per cent cite unemployment, while 15 per cent point to poor governance. Another 15 per cent attribute the situation to the failure by the government to deliver on the Social Health Authority (SHA).
